U.K. Considers Requiring ISPs to Take Action on Pirates

Riaa_logoRIAA president Cary Sherman recently said he didn't think there was a need to pass new laws requiring ISPs to monitor piracy, but that's not stopping the British government from consideration of such a law. Newspapers in the U.K. are reporting that the government is looking into a draft proposal that would require ISPs to first warn by e-mail, and then boot from service thereafter, anyone who uses the Internet to infringe digital content.
