Will A New Movie Out Tuesday Spark A Crime Wave Across America?

Posted by Eriq Gardner

Death_note_2a Wired News reviews the phenomenon known as "Death Note," a Japanese live-action sci-fi movie that hits theaters on Tuesday about a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written inside it. The story notes that the film has inspired copycat crimes wherever it's been shown, including Japan, China, and Belgium.

Of course, many good publicity campaigns start out with the notion that parents would like to see their product banned in the U.S.
