RIAA Targets Ray Beckerman as 'Vexatious' Lawyer

The RIAA has apparently exhausted its patience with attorney Ray Beckerman, famous for defending accused file-sharers and logging the battles against the music industry at his popular blog, Recording Industry vs. The People.

In the music industry's lawsuit against accused music pirate Marie Lindor, the plaintiffs have now filed a motion looking to impose monetary sanctions against Beckerman. The RIAA says he is guilty of "vexatious conduct," including making excessive objections, frivolous motions, and making a bad faith public relations campaign to embarrass the other side.

(By our count, the RIAA used the word "vexatious" 20 times in the 28-page motion. We get it.)

Beckerman tells Wired News that the allegations are "frivolous and irresponsible."
