Lil Wayne can't prevent release of film about Lil Wayne

It didn't take a judge long to reject rapper Lil Wayne's request for an injunction to prevent the release of the film "The Carter."

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael S. Mink wasn't impressed with allegations that QDC Entertainment perpetrated a fraud of Bernie Madoff proportions by convincing Wayne he'd have final approval on a documentary that showcased his life. The judge ruled in court this week that he wouldn't prevent the release of the film, which premiered at this year's Sundance film festival.

Lil Wayne also got more bad legal news in a Louisiana courtroom. A folk singer by the name of Karma-Ann Swanepoel claimed in a federal lawsuit last May that Wayne violated copyright by sampling her song "Once" without permission on a track called "I Feel Like Dying." Instead of getting this action dismissed, Judge Daniel Knowles III has ordered the hip hop star and his label to turn over financial information about the sales of his last album.
