Blame the island: 'Lost' tops most-pirated TV list

By Eriq Gardner

Below is a bar graph that shows the ten most-pirated TV shows for the week of April 27-May 3. The dark purple bar represents illegal downloads of the latest episode of each show, as tracked by TorrentFreak. "Lost" was the most pirated TV show, followed by "Heroes," "Prison Break" and "24." (Click here or the graph for larger version.) The light purple bar represents TV viewership for each of these shows during the last week of April, as tracked by Nielsen. Some shows like "Desperate Housewives" and "House," are popular in pirate circles and also popular on the television tube.  Other shows, like "Prison Break" and "Smallville," are hits in the pirate underground but their popularity there doesn't translate to major TV ratings.
