Mark Cuban escalates battle with SEC

Cuban After the SEC sued Mark Cuban last year, the flamboyant media/sports mogul released a trail of e-mails that pointed to a war of words between him and the SEC.

Cuban is now escalating his war with the agency.

In a filing made in the DC district court last week, Cuban demands to know whether there was a bounty placed on his head.

The civil action follows some Freedom of Information Act requests made by Cuban last December for various investigation documents related to Cuban and his companies. The two sides have been in communication with each other since then, and in February, the SEC informed Cuban that it couldn't find some the requested records and that others were protected under law enforcement exemptions to FOIA. Cuban has filed several appeals and now, getting nowhere, he's moving the dispute to civil court.

Here's Cuban's lawsuit against the SEC for declaratory and injunctive relief.

Among the documents that Cuban wants is any "Application for Award of a Bounty."
