Perez Hilton sues Black Eyed Peas manager for battery

Perez Hilton's lawyer wasn't kidding about those threats. The blogger has just sued Black Eyed Peas road manager Polo Molina for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress over an alleged incident at Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards that left Hilton roughed up and distressed enough to post an expletive-laden video on his website.

Here's the Hilton complaint , and a statement from lawyer Bryan Freedman:

"Perez Hilton was assaulted by the Band’s road manager because he would not agree to stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his website Perezhiton.com. Perez Hilton files this lawsuit to protect his freedom of speech and seeks legal redress against those who have physically assaulted him because they do not like his review of their album. Whether you love Perez or hate him, he is entitled to his freedom of speech without fear of physical violence. This lawsuit will make the statement that violence is never the answer. His First Amendment rights will be vigorously protected.”

What an incredible hypocrite! He used a slur and admitted during his 11 minute cry for attention that he chose the most hateful thing he could think to say and felt there would be no consequences for his actions. Welcome to reality, and words have consequences like anything else. You can't yell 'BOMB' in a theater, and if you call someone a f****t you can expect a reaction you should be prepared for. He should have stuck to posting a photo of them later and drawing a juvenile white smudge under their lips like usual. Please grow up or go away. People seem to think Freedom of Speech is absolute. It's not. There are a whole bunch of words and phrases you simply cannot say (especially if caucasian) without bringing turmoil into your life. You can't voice that you want to kill someone. You can't falsely claim there is a fire. You can't use words to incite a riot. You definitely can't use hate speech. All of this come from our laws.

What Perez Hilton did was mouth off to a group of people about their product. Eventhough he may be directing his comments at Will I AM, his words were for the benefit of everyone present. (Go back to your sexual harassment training and jokes around the water cooler. The same mentality applies.) In grade school had you called another student a weenie, you might have got punched. This is human nature. Violence may not be the answer - - but, some people push way too hard looking for a retaliation. Honestly, I think that was Perez Hilton's true agenda. He caused a stink with Ms. California. Now, he's picking fights in public. He should be the one punished. The courts need to hold people accountable for their speech. Perez should be charged by the county for calling 911 over a punch to the face.

Like I've read elsewhere, this was bound to happen sometime.
