Godzilla vs. Comcast: Which is scarier?

By Eriq Gardner

Picture 1 We know of no trademark holder in existence that has tread a path of destruction like Toho, owners of the famed Godzilla trademark.

In the past, Toho has sued fast food giants, toy manufacturers, the city of Louisville, and the list goes on and on. Last year, Wired spotlighted Aaron Moss of Greenberg Glusker under the caption, "Think Godzilla is scary? Meet his lawyers."

So now it's time for a new case. This one is against media giant Comcast over an advertising campaign featuring a fictional city called "Comcast Town," where a character that looks like Godzilla wreaks havoc and fights against a do-good robot.

Here's the complaint, filed in California District Court. We imagine Moss can almost play mad-libs in drafting these complaints. We're not sure why advertising agencies everywhere haven't gotten the message that the theme of a monster destroying a city can only result in pain.

Nice info. But so complicated. And it is night time here.I must go to sleep. But i will continue reading tomorrow.Anyway thanks a lot for the article.
